WHO IS GOD?

 

It is vitally important to know there is only ONE God. And, no, there are not many paths or roads to God. There is only ONE way and that way is through Jesus (John 14:6).

 

Now, that you know Jesus is your way to salvation and eternal life. Now, you need to understand why. It all starts with God giving His only Son to us. God did this because no Man on earth was sinless and could not fulfill the prophecy that was spoken of in His Word. God needed a mediator between man and Himself and no person on this earth was worthy to fulfill this. It was His will to restore mankind to Himself. In the Old Testament animal sacrifices were no longer sufficient for the atonement of sins (Hebrews 10:4) and therefore the Levitical priesthood has been done away with (another lesson) and Jesus becomes our High Priest (Hebrews 9:11-14). God needed a human sacrifice and He became that sacrifice in the person of Jesus Christ. The Lord Jesus Christ IS God manifested in the flesh. Glory to God!

 

The blood of Jesus:

 

• Pays for our sins so we are reconciled to God. (Matthew 26:28)

• We are purchased by His blood, the Blood of the Lamb. (Acts 20:28, 1 Corinthians 6:20, 7:23)

• Justifies us to a Holy God. (Romans 5:9)

• Redeems us. (Ephesians 1:7, Colossians 1:14, Hebrews 9:12)

• Allowed Gentiles a relationship with God. (Ephesians 2:11-16)

• Brought Jews and Gentiles alike into a relationship with God. (Revelation 5:9)

• Allows us to enter into the Holiest place. (Hebrews 10:19)

• Brought peace. (Colossians 1:20)

• Purges our conscience from dead works. (Hebrews 9:14)

• Sanctifies us. (Hebrews 10:29)Cleanses us from all sin. (1 John 1:7)Washes away our sin. (Revelation 1:5)

• Allows for an everlasting covenant between you and God. (Hebrews 13:20)

• Allows us to overcome Satan/devil/demons. (Revelation 12:11)

 

No earthly man could have endured what Jesus did on the cross. Of course God knew this and that is why He manifested Himself in the person of Jesus Christ. God poured his Holy Spirit into Mary’s womb and gave birth to Jesus Christ. God walked this earth in the person of Jesus Christ whom He also called His Son (John 3:16). Jesus was tempted just as you are, yet sinned not. Jesus overcame this world and was a perfect example for us. He teaches us how to live a Holy life and overcome sin. It is not His will that any should perish.

Okay, Why then was Jesus called “The Son of Man” ?

 

This term “Son of Man” used by Daniel (Daniel 7, 13) speaks of  Jesus return. It is also in Revelation 14:14. Also, Jesus referred to Himself as the “Son of Man” in the following scriptures:

 

• Matthew 8:20, 9:6, 10:23, 12:8,32,40, 13:37,41, 16: 27,28, 17:9,12,22, 18:11, 19:28, 20:18,28, 24:27,30,37,39,44, 25:31,

• John 1:51, 5:27,6:27,62, 8:28, 9:35, 12:23, 13:31

 

It is ONLY an expression of Jesus humbling Himself. This declares to us how God was willing to become a man and relate on our level. Also, used interchangeably with “Son of God” (Luke 22:66-71)

 

Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man. Jesus is God.
